Recently I just found a romantic plant —Eucalyptus. As everyone know ,is a classic local plant in Australia which is the basic food supply of koala 🐨.But there’s something interesting about the eucalyptus.
Eucalyptus also have a name called The Lonely Tree. Because of it will secrete a poison substance to prevent insect . Eucalyptus also will secrete some chemical substances which will inhibit other plant’s grow. Without the accompany of the insect and other plants, eucalyptus can only live alone forever.
At the same time, koala have a unique gene—CYP2C, which have much more than human or rat. This makes koala’s liver can produce more substance to detox, which makes koala won’t die because of eating eucalyptus.
The gifted gene lead to the encounter of koala and eucalyptus. With the water inside the eucalyptus, koala nearly no need water to support his live. With the accompany of koala, eucalyptus won’t feel lonely anymore.
The meaning of eucalyptus is “ The gift of God”. Maybe the favor is gifted to both eucalyptus and koala.
